My name is Robert Vanyi (more precisely Ványi Róbert in the native Hungarian form). I live in Galway Ireland, and work as software developer. Originally I'm from Kiskunfélegyháza, Hungary. I was living and studying in Szeged, Hungary then also in Erlangen, Germany. After four and a half years I've moved back to Szeged just to move to Ireland three years later.

My grandfather was born in Porcsalma, Hungary, so I'm from the Szatmár branch of the Ványi family. He was telling me stories about our ancestors, and he woke my interest in researching the family history.

I'm the adminstrator of the vanyi.org sites/services, and the creator of the Ványi family groups on facebook and iwiw. I'm also the webmaster and main contributor of several Ványi family sites at myheritage.
